DJ Sep is the founder, promoter, and main resident DJ at Dub Mission, one of the longest-running dub, roots reggae, and dancehall parties in the world. Now 20 years strong, Dub Mission has been voted the Bay Area's Best Reggae party three times. In addition to being a club DJ, Sep held it down on Bay Area radio for more than 20 years, starting on college radio station KUSF and later hosting a show on Berkeley's public radio station, KPFA. In 2003, she and producer Shockman compiled Babylon Is Ours: The USA in Dub, a collection of all-exclusive American dub tracks (Select Cuts Records). In 2009, Mochipet's Daly City Records released her remixes (with Jason Short) of "Get Your Dub Wet" featuring Juakali and Mista Chatman. Sep has won a Goldie Award (Bay Guardian) and been nominated for Best DJ (SF Weekly Music Awards). She has spun at HempCon, Silent Disco/Hushfest, How Weird, Sunday Streets and venues throughout California, as well as in London, New York, Vancouver, Washington DC, Miami, Los Angeles, Seattle and Portland. Sep has opened for Lee Perry, Sly & Robbie, The Wailers, Culture,
Mad Professor, Big Youth, Yellowman, Les Nubians, Rachid Taha, Kinky, The Cinematic Orchestra, and many others. Her live sets, mixes, and productions can be found on her Soundcloud page.
