DJ Sep is the founder, promoter, and main resident DJ at
Dub Mission, one of the longest-running club parties in
the world. Now 20 years strong, Dub Mission has been voted
the Bay Area's Best Reggae party three times in the last
five years. In addition to being a club DJ, Sep has performed
at a variety of private and public events, including weddings,
birthdays, publishing parties, museums, and festivals. She
has won a Goldie Award (Bay Guardian) and been nominated
for Best DJ (SF Weekly Music Awards). For many years, Sep
hosted two shows on Bay Area radio: at former college radio
station KUSF, and Berkeley's public radio station KPFA.
Sep has spun at Festival Raztlan, Red Bull Culture Clash,
HempCon, Silent Disco/Hushfest, How Weird, Sunday Streets,
Cal Academy of Sciences, Oakland Museum of Art, and venues
throughout the Bay Area. She has also performed in London,
Vancouver, Tijuana, New
DC, Miami, Los Angeles, San Diego, Seattle, and Portland.
In addition to producing more than 1000 shows, Sep has opened
for many artists, including Lee "Scratch" Perry,
Sly & Robbie, The Wailers, Quantic, Culture, Mad
Nubians, Rachid Taha, Kinky, and The Cinematic Orchestra.
